Hepburn in Hell

Recently I saw a television commercial that nearly made me cry, Audrey Hepburn for The Gap. In the utterly tasteless tradition of Fred Astaire for Dirt Devil vacuum cleaners and Groucho Marx for Diet Coke, Audrey's dance from Funny Face has been stolen, and strangely contorted through a digital kaleidoscope. The ad's soundtrack is, of course, "Back in Black", as we all know how much Miss Hepburn loved post Bon Scott era AC/DC. Apparently Gap's abuse of young women is not confined to those living in Saipan.

It's interesting, too, that the YouTube clip above is entitled "The Latest Gap Skinny Black Pants with a dancing girl." I guess this is a generation gap issue, not just a matter of bad taste.
